About

What is “The Churchbell” all about you’re wondering? It’s about…God, and His people, who are known as the holy catholic church of Jesus Christ (that’s a small C in catholic church, not a capital C like the “Roman Catholic Church”), or as we are most commonly referred to in modern times: “the Church”.

And “the Church” today is in trouble brethren, and far too few are standing up and saying so, or even paying enough attention to notice all too often.

James Chapter 3, verse 1 says: My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. In other words, Christians ought to always be careful about what we teach, because we will be held accountable for how we affect others with what we teach. I take those words very seriously to heart, and truly, I only ever choose to “teach” of God (so to speak) when and as I do because the Holy Spirit of God compels me to do so.

In truth, I greatly fear the idea of teaching someone any wrong thing about God, of giving anyone wrong information, or a wrong understanding of His word in any way, and as old as I am, I am always anxious whenever I have to get up and speak; but Jesus said in Matthew 10:19-20:

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

We all have our trust issues in life, and at some point, we all struggle to trust God in some way or other. One of mine has always been to be able to trust that I won’t screw up somehow. I have always been worried about failing others – not just regarding Gods ways – but when you add on the weight of failing God…Whoa! But, as I had to come to realize, that when it comes to speaking for God (so to speak), when I lack trust and do not do so, I show a lack of trust in Him.

I am much better than I once was at not doubting God in this area, but at times I do still struggle, so please pray for me anyway brethren, that when I obey and speak as He wishes me to, that my own mouth is (figuratively) firmly closed.

Call it a pulpit or call it a soapbox, The Churchbell is here to speak to God’s people as God has commanded us: 2Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. The Churchbell’s are ringing, do you have ears to hear them? I pray that we all do.
